Gary Kaplan is a successful entrepreneur from Brooklyn who has traveled the world and achieved great success in his career. The HG Kaplan Foundation also provides health education to improve safety, hygiene, and nutrition. Hand washing and healthy eating habits are taught to children from a young age to help avoid sickness from germs that can lead to major illnesses and sometimes even death at a very young age. Helping Refugees

In 2018, Gary Kaplan’s foundation was integral in helping many of the 55,000 refugees who had fled from Nicaragua due to political unrest. Costa Rica takes in many refugees but with resources stretched thin, many of those taken in lacked basic essentials. The HG Kaplan Foundation partnered with other organizations that were helping the refugees and provided financial assistance. With the additional support from Gary Kaplan and his organization, the others were able to offer resources to families that needed help the most. With the resources provided, the refugee children were able to have fun and play, attend school and community centers and start building a new life for themselves.
